PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a shield machine which causes a cutter disc or cutter spoke to partially expand and contract for excavation, while inhibiting fluctuation of earth pressure at a working face in front of the shield machine and enhancing its property of agitating sediment. SOLUTION : This shield machine with an earth-pressure-adjusting, earth/sand agitating device has an earth-pressure-adjusting, sediment agitating auxiliary disc or auxiliary spoke 4 provided coaxially with the behind an excavating cutter disk or cutter spoke 1 fitted with a telescopic part 2. The auxiliary disc or auxiliary spoke 4 is fitted with a telescopic part 5 and is rotatable in the same direction as rotation of the excavating cutter disc or cutter spoke and in the opposite direction.
