PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hydrogen storage alloy superior in corrosion resistance; an electrode and a nickel-hydrogen storage battery formed by using the same; and a method for manufacturing the hydrogen storage alloy.SOLUTION : The hydrogen storage alloy has at least two phases containing La, Ni and Y or a heavy rare-earth element. A first phase has a composition expressed by a general formula R1R2R3NiR4(wherein R1 denotes at least one element or more essentially including La, R2 denotes at least one element selected from a group consisting of Y and a heavy rare-earth element, R3 denotes Ca and/or Mg, R4 denotes at least one element selected from a group consisting of Co, Mn and Al, and a, b, c, d and e are numerical values satisfying a+b+c=1, 0≤b≤0.3, 0≤c≤0.4, 3.0
