PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of manufacturing a permanent magnet, capable of obtaining a high performance magnet with good productivity regardless of the kinds of sintered magnet.SOLUTION : When a plate-like evaporation material RM containing at least one kind selected from Dy, Tb and Ho and a plurality of ion-boron-rare-earth based sintered magnets S are disposed face to face with a space kept between them in a processing chamber, the inside of the processing chamber is heated under a reduced pressure to heat the sintered magnets to a prescribed temperature and evaporate the evaporation material, evaporated Dy, Tb or Ho is made to adhere to the surface of the sintered magnets with its supply amount adjusted, and at least one selected from adhered Dy, Tb and Ho is diffused in the grain boundary and/or grain boundary phase of the sintered magnet, the sintered magnet is held in an attitude taken so that the self weight of the sintered magnet does not work.SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 2 |
