PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To recover scandium while suppressing impurities.
SOLUTION : There is provided a method for recovering scandium from a raw material containing scandium and thorium, which comprises the following steps : a leaching step of leaching scandium from the raw material with an acidic liquid which is adjusted to have a pH of 0.3 to 0.9 after completion of leaching to obtain a liquid after leaching; a neutralization step of neutralizing the liquid after leaching to generate precipitates; and a solid-liquid separation step of separating the precipitates and the liquid after leaching.
