PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an optical glass that has high refractive index and high dispersion and has a low glass transition point.
SOLUTION : The optical glass of the present invention comprises an oxide containing any of rare earth ions of La3+, Y3+, Gd3+, Lu3+ and Yb3+, and W6+, and in which, characterized, the content (cat%) of the rare earth ions with respect to the entire cations contained in the optical glass is 19 cat% or more and 30 cat% or less, the content of W6+ is 4 cat% or more and 70 cat% or less, the total of the content of Nb5+ and Ti4+ is 0 cat% or more and 75 cat% or less, and the Abbe number is 16 or more and 24 or less.
