简介 FIELD : chemistry. SUBSTANCE : invention can be used in the manufacture of scintillator materials for tomographs. Powder for producing scintillator material is placed in a mould and compressed by uniaxial or isostatic compression. Powder can be further heated to 480-2200 °C. Scintillator material is moulded, the exit surface of which comprises a plurality of geometric objects that reduce total internal reflection on the exit surface and increase the number of photons emerging from the exit surface by a value greater than or equal to 5% compared to a surface that does not have geometric objects. Scintillator material has a garnet structure and composition in accordance with the formula M1aM2bM3cM4dO12, where O - oxygen, M1, M2, M3 and M4 differ from each other, M1 is a rare earth element including gadolinium or combinations thereof with yttrium, lutetium, scandium, M2 is aluminium, M3 is gallium, M4 is a codopant, which is cerium and/or praseodymium; the sum of a + b + c + d is approximately 8, "a" from about 2 to about 3.5; "b" from 0 to about 5; "c" from 0 to about 5; "d" from 0 to about 1; wherein "b" and "c", "b" and "d" or "c" and "d" can not be equal to zero at the same time. Geometric objects can take the form of pyramids, cones, hemispheres, ellipsoids, fullerenes, truncated pyramids, or truncated cones, or hemispheres, or ellipsoids, or spheres, or fullerenes. Resulting scintillator material is used in imaging devices that are a positron emission tomograph, a computer tomograph or a single photon emission computer tomograph.
