PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric composition which has high resistivity under a high electric field strength during direct voltage impression while showing a high dielectric constant, and to provide electronic components including a dielectric layer formed with the dielectric composition.
SOLUTION : A dielectric composition comprises mainly a complex oxide expressed by composition formula, Ti1.0000-x-y-zAxByCzO2+δ, and having a rutile type crystal structure, wherein : A is one or more element selected from the group consisting of Al, Ga, In and a rare-earth element; B is one or more element selected from the group consisting of Si, Zr, and Hf; C is one or more element selected from the group consisting of V, Nb, Sb and Ta; and x, y and z satisfies relations of x>0, y>0, z>0, 0.0050≤x+y+z≤0.3000, 2.0000≤(x+z)/y≤20.0000, 0.8000≤x/z≤1.2000.
