An electric motor 1 is provided with a rotor 3 having a rotor magnet 20. The rotor magnet 20 includes : an annular back yoke 23 that is formed by molding a resin which contains soft magnetic powder and/or ferrite powder; and an annular resin magnet 24 that is formed by molding a resin containing rare earth magnetic powder, that is disposed on an outer peripheral surface of the back yoke 23, and that has a plurality of slits 31 in a plurality of inter-magnetic pole sections of the rotor magnet 20. The length of each slit 31 in the axial direction is shorter than the total length of the resin magnet 24 in the axial direction. |
