A polymerization catalyst composition that enables efficient synthesis of high molecular weight polyisoprene is provided. An isoprene polymerization catalyst composition includes : Component (a) : a rare earth element compound having a rare earth element-oxygen bond or a rare earth element-sulfur bond; Component (b) : an ionic compound; and Component (c) : at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a compound of formula (X) : YR 1 a R 2 b R 3 c and a compound having a repeating unit of formula (Y) : (-Y(R 1 )O-) (where Y is a metal selected from groups 1, 2, 12 and 13 in a periodic table, R 1 and R 2 are C 1-10 hydrocarbon groups or hydrogen atoms and R 3 is a C 1-10 hydrocarbon group where R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are the same or different, and a=1, b=o and c=o in the case where Y is the metal selected from the group 1 in the periodic table, a=1, b=1 and c=o in the case where Y is the metal selected from the groups 2 and 12 in the periodic table, and a=1, b=1 and c=1 in the case where Y is the metal selected from the group 13 in the periodic table). |
