PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method in which, from an object to be treated containing at least a rare earth element and an iron group element, the rare earth element can be separated from the iron group element with a small number of steps and recovered as an oxide.SOLUTION : The method is characterized to at least include a step of carrying out a first heat treatment at a temperature of 300°C to 700°C in an atmosphere with oxygen present in a state in which both carbon and an object to be treated containing at least a rare earth element and an iron group element are present, followed by a step of carrying out a second heat treatment at a temperature of 1150°C or more in an atmosphere with no oxygen present.SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 1 |
