PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To overcome a problem of an adsorption storage method that almost hydrogen detach around ordinary temperature and a problem of a hydrogen storage alloy that it is embrittled by repeat of storage and release of hydrogen, in which known examples of the hydrogen storage method include a method for physically adsorbing hydrogen to a high ratio surface area material (adsorption storage method) and a method for taking hydrogen into the hydrogen adsorption alloy, and the methods use cycles of absorption of hydrogen at low temperature and high pressure and desorption of hydrogen at high temperature and low pressure, which are repeated reversibly.
SOLUTION : Adsorption storage amount of hydrogen can be increased by introducing hydrogen to a porous carrier carrying VIII group metal. Further it is found that desorption of hydrogen which is adsorbed to the VIII group metal is promoted and collectable hydrogen amount can be increased by carrying at least one or more kind of alkali earth metal oxides, rare earth oxide, silver, copper and chromium to a porous carrier.
