PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a phosphor recovery method by which a phosphor, which contains a rare earth element, can be selectively recovered with a sufficient accuracy from a waste fluorescent tube by a simple and inexpensive device.
SOLUTION : A phosphor recovery method for selectively recovering a phosphor, which contains a rare earth element, from a waste fluorescent tube has : a recovery object determination process in which whether or not the fluorescent tube is so made as to be a recover object is determined based on a dimension of the waste fluorescent tube in a radial direction; and a phosphor recover process in which a phosphor is selectively recovered from only the waste fluorescent tube which has been so made as to be a recover object in the recovery object determination process.
