Opaque glass-ceramic comprising at least one knepelin crystal phase, from about 30 mol% to about 65 mol% SiO 2, from about 15 mol% to about 40 mol% Al 2 O 3, about 10 mol% to about 20 mol% (Na2O + K 2O), and about 1 mol% to about 10 mol% (ZnO + MgO) is disclosed. In addition, at least one spinel doped with at least one colorant selected from at least one nepelin crystal phase and metastotic metal and rare earth elements- opaque glass containing a structural image- ceramic is disclosed. These opaque glass-methods for producing ceramic are further disclosed. |
