Provided is a silicate eutectic material doped with a rare earth ion prepared by means of a pulling process, with the chemical formula thereof being Re4xBi4(1-x)Si3O12/Bi12SiO20, wherein the rare earth ion Re is any one of Nd, Yb, Tm, Ho, Er, Pr, Dy and Sm, and the value of X ranges from 0.003 to 0.05. In addition, further provided is a method for preparing the eutectic material, the method involving using certain masses of Bi2O3 with a purity of 5 N, SiO2 and Re2O3 as raw materials, fully grinding same, then pressing same into blocks, and then sintering the blocks at a high temperature of 885 degrees Celsius, such that the eutectic is obtained by means of a pulling process. Compared with the prior art, the eutectic material of the present invention can have two sizes of grains inside the material, the full width at half the maximum of the luminescence of the rare earth ion is wider than that of a single crystal material, and the eutectic material can be used for tunable laser output. |
