简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing an R-Fe-B based sintered magnet, in which an RXE layer is uniform in thickness and hard to fall, organic substances EP and ET included therein are separated from a matrix during a thermal treatment, and a carbon element content of the matrix never increases remarkably. SOLUTION : A method for manufacturing a rare earth-iron-boron based sintered magnet comprises the steps of : preparing an R1-Fe-B-M based sintered magnet as a matrix; providing an RXE layer on a surface of the matrix, provided that RXE includes powder RX of a heavy rare earth element, powder EP of an organic solid and an organic solvent ET; thermally drying the RXE layer; then, forming an organic thin film layer for coating a heavy rare earth element on the surface of the matrix; and performing a heat treatment on the matrix in a vacuum sintering furnace, in which the organic substances EP and ET in the RXE layer are separated from the matrix and the heavy rare earth element in the powder RX is diffused to the inside of the magnet while being heated, leading to the enhancement of a magnetic performance of the magnet.
