Provided is a method for producing a rare earth magnet, which suppresses the occurrence of cracking in a molded body when the molded body is formed from a metal powder containing a rare earth element, and which improves the shape retainability of the molded body. This method for producing a rare earth magnet comprises : a molding step wherein a metal powder containing a rare earth element is supplied into a mold so as to form a molded body; an orientation step wherein a magnetic field is applied to the molded body held in the mold so as to orient the metal powder contained in the molded body; a separation step wherein at least a part of the mold is separated from the molded body after the orientation step; a heating step wherein the temperature of the molded body is adjusted to be within the range of from 200°C to 450°C (inclusive) by heating the molded body after the separation step; and a sintering step wherein the molded body is sintered after the heating step. |
