PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a recovery method of rare earth elements which is practically feasible as a low-cost and simple recycle system and recovers rare earth elements from a to-be-treated object containing at least rare earth elements and iron group elements.SOLUTION : A recovery method of rare earth elements comprises conducting an oxidation treatment of a to-be-treated object, changing the treatment environment to one including presence of carbon, conducting a heat treatment under the conditions of : (1) a mol concentration of boron contained in the oxidation-treated object being 0-0.50 time the mol concentration of rare earth elements; and (2) a heat treatment temperature of 950-1, 300°C and reacting the obtained heat-treated product with water to recover oxides of rare earth elements as powder. |
