The present invention includes : a step for applying a paste that contains powdered particles of a metal, alloy, and/or compound of a heavy rare earth element RH (where RH is Dy and/or Tb) onto the upper surface, the lower surface, and the side surfaces of R-T-B sintered magnets; and a step for heat-treating the R-T-B sintered magnets to which the paste has been applied at a temperature equal to or less than the sintering temperature. The step for applying the paste includes : a step for sequentially feeding R-T-B sintered magnets to an application device provided with an internal space having an inlet opening and an outlet opening, the application device being configured such that the R-T-B sintered magnets sequentially pass through the internal space in a lateral direction; and a step for filling an internal space in an application apparatus with the paste and bringing the paste into contact with the upper surface, the lower surface, and the side surfaces of the R-T-B sintered magnets while the R-T-B sintered magnets are moving through the internal space. |
