PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a secondary battery system which operates with a high voltage.
SOLUTION : The above problem is solved by providing a secondary battery system. The secondary battery system according to the present invention comprises a fluoride ion battery including a positive electrode active material layer; and a control part operable to control the charge and discharge of the fluoride ion battery. The positive electrode active material layer has a layered perovskite structure and includes a positive electrode active material having a crystal phase represented by An+1BnO3n+1-αFx (where A is at least one of an alkali-earth metal element and a rare earth element, B is at least one of Mn, Co, Ti, Cr, Fe, Cu, Zn, V, Ni, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Pd, W, Re, Bi and Sb, n is 1 or 2, α satisfies 0≤α≤3.5, and x satisfies 0≤x≤5.5). The control part controls so as to charge the fluoride ion battery to an overcharged state where a value of F/B is larger than 2/n in the positive electrode active material.
