PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To suppress an increase in production cost of a ceramic sintered body while suppressing a decrease in the oxidation resistance of the ceramic sintered body in a wide temperature range.
SOLUTION : A ceramic sintered body has a main phase containing crystals of silicon nitride, and a grain boundary phase between the main phases. The grain boundary phase contains a crystal phase that contains at least one rare earth element selected from Yb and Er, Si, Al, oxygen, and 0.5wt% or more and 2.0wt% or less of nitrogen, and does not contain a group 2 element in the IUPAC periodic table.
