PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hydrophilizing agent with hydrophilizing capability for solid surfaces, and a hydrophilizing method using the same.SOLUTION : The hydrophilizing agent contains a polymer compound (A) with a repeat unit (a) represented by the general formula (1), a polyvalent organic acid (B), and water (C). The mass average molecular weight of (A) is between 1, 000 and 20, 000, In (A), the content of the repeat unit (a) is 60 mol% or more, and the content of a repeat unit (b) having an acidic group is 5 mol% or less. Also provided is a method of hydrophilizing solid surfaces. (In the formula, Ris a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; Ris a C1-6 alkanediyl group; R, Rand Rare each independently a C1-5 alkyl group, a benzyl group, or an alkyl benzyl group with an C1-5 alkyl group; X is an oxygen atom or a NH group; and Yis an anion.) |
