PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To simplify an exhaust emission control system while striking a balance between oxidation combustion of particulate and reduction cleanup of NOx.SOLUTION : In the exhaust emission control system, a filter 5 for collecting the particulate is provided in an exhaust gas passage 1 of an engine, and an SCR catalyst for selectively reducing NOx in the presence of a reductant agent and a Zr-based composite oxide containing rare earth metals other than Ce for combusting the particulate are supported to the filter 5.SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 1 |
