PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide lubricating base oil for a drive line and a lubricating oil composition for a drive line, having low viscosity and nonetheless having excellent viscosity-temperature property and low- temperature flowability and exhibiting high intermetallic friction property.SOLUTION : There is provided the lubricating base oil for a drive line which contains dialkyl ether represented by the general formula (1) and a hydrocarbon compound having a kinetic viscosity at 100°C of 120 mm/s or more and which has a flash point of 130°C or more and a flow point of -15°C or less. There is also provided a lubricating oil composition for a drive line. (1), where Rand Rare each independently a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and Rto Rare each independently a hydrogen atom or a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. |
