简介 A method of producing a positive electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, the method including : stirring core particles including a lithium-transition metal composite oxide represented by a formula : LiaNi1-x-y-zCoxM1yM2zO2 wherein 1.00≰a≰1.50, 0.00≰x≰0.50, 0.00≰y≰0.50, 0.00≰z≰0.02, x+y≰0.70, M1 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mn and Al, and M2 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Zr, W, Ti, Mg, Ta, Nb and Mo; mixing the core particles with a first solution containing a rare earth element and a second solution containing a fluorine-containing compound, each independently, by adding dropwise the first solution and the second solution as the core particles are being stirred until the amount of the rare earth element added reaches 0.02 mol % to 0.15 mol % based on the amount of the core particles and the amount of the elemental fluorine added reaches 0.07 mol % to 0.5 mol % based on the amount of the core particles to yield coated core particles; and heating the coated core particles at a temperature no greater than 500° C.
