PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for improving low-temperature activity of a PM (Particulate Matter) combustion catalyst of a particulate filter.
SOLUTION : The particulate filter is provided in which a catalyst 20 for combusting particulates is provided in a wall of an exhaust gas passage in the filter for collecting the particulates in exhaust gas. The catalyst 20 contains a catalyst component 23 that carries nanoparticles 22 of a Ce-containing oxide of which the {100} plane is exposed, on a perovskite-type compound oxide 21 having oxygen ion conductivity. The compound oxide 21 is a SrFe-based perovskite-type compound oxide containing no rare-earth metal, preferably a SrFeCo-based perovskite-type compound oxide.
