PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for extracting methane gas capable of efficiently extracting methane gas while inhibiting rehydration, when decomposing methane hydrate fixed to a foundation of an underground, a sea bottom, a water bottom, or the like.SOLUTION : An inventive method for extracting methane gas from methane hydrate in a foundation, the method includes : a step of decomposing the methane hydrate to generate methane gas and water; and a step of inhibiting rehydration of the generated methane gas and the water in a rehydration inhibitor. The rehydration inhibitor consists of an oily material having a density which is higher than that of the methane hydrate and lower than that of the water. |
