PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a new up-conversion phosphor excellent in light emission characteristics and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION : There is provided an up-conversion phosphor which contains a first rare-earth metal as a photosensitive component and a second rare-earth metal as an activation component in a host crystal, where the host crystal is a composite oxide of a divalent metal selected from Zn, Mg, Ca, Ba and Sr and a tetravalent metal selected from Ti, Si and Ge. There is provided a method for producing an up-conversion phosphor by firing a mixture of a Zn compound, a Ti compound, an Er compound and Yb compound or by firing a mixture of an M compound (provided that M is Mg, Ca, Ba or Sr), an Si compound, an Er compound and a Yb compound. |
