PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing a rare earth magnet having a ThMn12 type crystal structure, by which the residual magnetic flux density and anisotropy can be both increased at a time.
SOLUTION : A method for manufacturing a rare earth magnet comprises the steps of : preparing a molten metal of an alloy having a composition expressed by the formula, (R1(1-x)R2x)p(Fe(1-y)Coy)qTrMs; cooling the molten metal into flakes; pulverizing the flakes into powder; compacting the powder into a green compact; sintering the green compact into a sintered compact; and performing a hot working on the sintered compact at 700-1000°C.
