PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cell, a cell stack device, a module and a module-housing device which enable the increase in long-term reliability.
SOLUTION : A cell 1 according to the present invention comprises : a pillar-like support body 2 having a pair of principal faces n; an element part arranged by stacking, on one principal face n of the support body 2, a first electrode 3, a solid electrolyte layer 4 including, as a primary component, an oxide including an oxide of a rare earth element and a second electrode 6 in this order; a first layer 7a provided at one end of the support body 2 in a lengthwise direction thereof on the side of the one principal face n, which is higher, in strength, than the solid electrolyte layer 4; and a second layer 7b extending in a lengthwise direction at ends in a widthwise direction of the support body 2 on the side of the one principal face n thereof, which is higher than the solid electrolyte layer 4 in strength, and narrower than the first layer 7a in width. The second layer 7b is spaced away from the first layer 7a.
