PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a novel mesogen-silicon compound copolymer, and a method of producing the copolymer.SOLUTION : This invention provides a mesogen-silicon compound copolymer with a weight average molecular weight of 300-500, 000 having a structure represented by the following average composition formula (1), where R-Rare a divalent hydrocarbon group; l, n are a positive number equal to or less than 0.5 and m, k are 0 or a positive number of 0.5 or less, with l+n=0.4-0.6, m+k=0.4-0.6, l+n+m+k=1; A, B are divalent atoms or molecules selected from the group of -O-, -NH-, -S-; D, E are divalent atoms or molecules selected from the group of -O-, *-R-NH-, *-R-S-; * is a direction of bond to a phenyl group; R is a single bond, or a divalent hydrocarbon group; X, Y are univalent aliphatic hydrocarbon groups, (meth) acryl groups, CN, OCH, NO, F atoms, Cl atoms, Br atoms, or I atoms; p, q are integers of 0-4; and Z is a divalent group comprising a silicon atom. |
