PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a polycarbonate resin having high surface hardness, high flame retardancy and with less foreign matters.SOLUTION : The polycarbonate resin has a repeating unit derived from a compound represented by formula (1), and the content of a structural unit in which an ester group bonds to the aromatic ring of the compound of formula (1) is ≥20 ppm but ≤1, 000 ppm. The total content of the group 1 and 2 metals in the Long Form Periodic Table is 5.0×10mol or less based on 1 mol of the repeating unit derived from the whole dihydroxy compound composing the polycarbonate resin. In the formula (1), Rand Rare each independently (un)substituted 1-20C alkyl or (un)substituted aryl, and X is single bond, (un)substituted alkylene, (un)substituted alkylidene, or (un)substituted sulfur or oxygen. |
