PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth permanent magnet having high coercive force, using Pr with greater magnetic anisotropy.
SOLUTION : A rare earth permanent magnet is characterized in that, when the number of trivalent Pr atoms in the main phase particle is P3 and the number of tetravalent Pr atoms is P4, the abundance ratio is P4/(P3+P4)≥0.1. As a result, since action such as improvement in magnetic anisotropy derived from trivalent Pr is obtained, the rare earth permanent magnet having high coercive force can be obtained.
