This cell comprises : a support body having a lengthwise direction and having a pair of principal surfaces; and an element part in which laminated on one principal surface of the support body in the given order are a first electrode, a solid electrolyte layer the main component of which is an oxide containing a rare earth element oxide, and a second electrode. On the other principal surface at one end in the lengthwise direction of the support body, further provided is a first layer that includes a main component which is the same oxide as the main component of the solid electrolyte layer but contains a different amount of the rare earth element oxide, and that has a higher strength than the solid electrolyte layer. A second layer is provided between the first layer and the support body, and the second layer contains a higher amount of the same component included in the support body than the first layer and is formed by including the same component as the first layer. |
