PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a simple manufacturing method of rare earth nanoparticles with no need for high pressure reaction environment and without using an organic solvent.
SOLUTION : There is provided a manufacturing method of nanoparticles of rare earth oxide by adjusting pH and temperature for a solution to which an ionic surfactant is added and in which rear earth ions are dissolved, forming micelle where the rear earth ions bind to a hydrophilic group of the ionic surfactant and precipitating the same, heating and sintering a precipitate to conduct removal of an organic article and impurities and obtaining rear earth oxide particles having particles with particle diameter of 100 nm or less that occupy 95% or more by particle number.
