PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for measuring a relative position between rolls, which can easily and accurately measure relative position relation between a plurality of rolls installed side by side.
SOLUTION : In a method for measuring a relative position between rolls, which measures relative position relation between a plurality of rolls 5 installed side by side, a re-reflection target 3 is brought into contact with a measured object, and a laser beam is applied to the re-reflection target 3, so that a three-dimensional laser tracker 1 for acquiring spatial coordinates of the measured object with reflection light from the re-reflection target 3 is used. The method includes : a roll surface coordinate acquisition process of acquiring at least six coordinates on a surface of each of the plurality of rolls 5 by the re-reflection target 3; a roll core axis acquisition process of acquiring a roll core axis of each of the rolls 5 on the basis of the coordinates acquired in the roll surface coordinate acquisition process; and a roll deviation amount calculation process in which, on the basis of each roll core axis acquired in the roll core axis acquisition process and a reference position of each roll core axis in three-dimentional coordinates, the amount of deviation of each roll core axis from the reference position is calculated.
