Provided is a multilayer ceramic capacitor which has an excellent lifespan characteristic and of which a leakage current is fully suppressed, even though the thickness of a dielectric layer is 0.8 μ m or less. The multilayer ceramic capacitor has a laminate which is configured as inner electrode layers having different polarities are alternately laminated by interposing the dielectric layer therebetween. The dielectric layer includes ceramic particles of which a main component is BaTiO_3, and the ceramic particles includes at least one element selected from a group consisting of Mo, Mn, rare earth R, V, and W.
