PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide : a positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery, which is superior in cycle characteristics; a method for manufacturing such a positive electrode; and a lithium ion secondary battery.
SOLUTION : A positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery comprises : a current collector; and a positive electrode active material layer covering the current collector. The positive electrode active material layer includes : first active material particles each having a first positive electrode active material capable of occluding and releasing lithium ions, and a carbon-coated portion formed on the surface of the first positive electrode active material; and an organic inorganic coating layer formed over the surface of each first active material particle. The organic inorganic coating layer includes : a selected polymer having at least one group selected from an amino group, an amide group, an imino group, an imide group, a maleimide group, a carboxyl group and an ether group; and at least one selected metal selected from an alkali metal, an alkali-earth metal and a rare earth element.
