简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide materials and methods for reducing EBC wear on a CMC blade tip caused by friction during operation of a turbine. SOLUTION : A coating system 20 on a CMC substrate 24 is provided, along with methods of its tape deposition on the substrate 24. The coating system 20 can include : a bond coat 26 on a surface of the CMC substrate 24; a first rare earth silicate coating 28a on the bond coat 26; a first sacrificial coating 30a of a first reinforced rare earth silicate matrix on the at least one rare earth silicate layer; a second rare earth silicate coating 28b on the sacrificial coating; a second sacrificial coating 30b of a second reinforced rare earth silicate matrix on the second rare earth silicate coating 28b; a third rare earth silicate coating 28c on the second sacrificial coating 30b; and an outer layer 32 on the third rare earth silicate coating 28c.
