PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To make a new application of cerium with "environmentally friendly" feature, with its oxide purifying exhaust gas of a vehicle, its sulfide replacing pigment including poisonous metal and occupying an important feature of a long-life and low energy bulb and additionally having a possibility of applying new contribution.
SOLUTION : Adding a small amount of cerium to fuel causes its carbonaceous fine particles to be burnt automatically due to catalytic action of cerium and the fine particles to be diminished. Only adding a small amount of cerium to Diesel fuel of 1000 L causes a normal life of Diesel engine to become 1.5 Kg in conversion of cerium oxide and its long life of longer hours to be attained.
