PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nickel hydrogen secondary battery combining the cycle life characteristics and the low temperature discharge characteristics.SOLUTION : A nickel hydrogen secondary battery 2 is housing an electrode group 22, consisting of a positive electrode 24 and a negative electrode 26 superposed each other with a separator interposed therebetween, along with an alkaline electrolyte. The alkaline electrolyte contains water as a solvent, and KOH, NaOH and LiOH as a solute. When the total normality of solute is A(N), and the normality of LiOH is B(N), following relationship is satisfied; B/(0.036×A-0.84×A+5.56)>1. The positive electrode 24 contains Li, total amount of Li existing in the nickel hydrogen secondary battery 2 is 70% or more, and the negative electrode 26 has a rare earth-Mg-Ni-based hydrogen storage alloy. |
