简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nanocrystal capable of controlling a magneto-optical effect, and to provide a luminescent ink composition, a material for forming a quantum dot, and an article each using the nanocrystal. SOLUTION : The nanocrystal is a CaS nanocrystal including a crystal phase having a composition represented by M1-XEuXS, in which a part of Ca divalent ions is replaced by Eu divalent ions and X ranges from 0.001 to 0.25. The nanocrystal has such a magneto-optical effect that, by varying ratios of Ca and Eu in the nanocrystal, magneto-optical properties of the Eu divalent ions are influenced by different crystalline fields, resulting in great changes in an absorption wavelength of light and its intensity and in a magnetic interaction between rare earths. Namely, the nanocrystal contains an alkaline earth metal, Eu and S, and has an average particle diameter of 20 nm or less. SELECTED DRAWING : None COPYRIGHT : (C)2017, JPO&INPIT
