SOLUTION : A sintered magnet body m is warmed or heated with pre-heating means 3 including an infrared heater 31 before applying a slurry with a powder of a rare earth compound being dispersed in a solvent, when the slurry is applied to the sintered magnet body m by slurry application means 2 including an application roller 21 and a slurry supply mechanism part 22, and dried by drying means 5 including an infrared heater 51, a sintered magnet body surface is coated with the powder by removing the solvent in the slurry, and rare earth elements are absorbed in the sintered magnet body m by performing heat treatment on the sintered magnet body surface.
EFFECT : The powder of the rare earth compound can be efficiently and uniformly applied to the sintered magnet body surface.
