PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To simply and smoothly produce an unsaturated amine having 3-6 carbon atoms in high yield using an amino alcohol having 3-6 carbon atoms as a raw material.
SOLUTION : There is provided a method for producing an unsaturated amine in which an amino alcohol having 3-6 carbon atoms is subjected to dehydration reaction to produce an unsaturated amine having 3-6 carbon atoms using a rare earth oxide, more preferably ytterbium oxide as a catalyst. In addition, the rare earth oxide used as a catalyst preferably includes any of ytterbium oxide, yttrium oxide, erbium oxide and lutetium oxide.
