PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To prevent high temperature demagnetization of rare earth magnets for use in a motor by facilitating cooling of the motor by a discharge gas.SOLUTION : A hermetic electric compressor of the invention includes : a compression mechanism which compresses a refrigerant; an electric motor which drives the compression mechanism; and a sealed container which stores the compression mechanism and the electric motor and reserves a lubrication oil at a bottom part. The electric motor includes a stator, a rotator, and a balance weight fixed to the rotator. The rotator includes permanent magnets. A part of or all of the permanent magnets are Nd-Fe-B based magnets. The balance weight has a circumferential groove on an outer peripheral surface. |
