简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth oxide-carrying noble metal catalyst having high catalytic activity, also having greatly-improved ammonia production activity per unit catalyst weight and per unit carrier metal content, and capable of ammonia synthesis under a mild condition. SOLUTION : There is provided a catalyst in which ruthenium is carried in the layered state by a praseodymium oxide carrier. The catalyst can be obtained by firing a praseodymium oxide precursor at a low temperature, a medium temperature and a high temperature in this order, to thereby obtain praseodymium oxide, and by agitating it together with a ruthenium supply source in a solvent, followed by solvent removal and firing.
