Provided is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of inhibiting an increase in DCR after charge/discharge cycles. In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery according to one embodiment of the present invention, a positive electrode active material for a positive electrode contains secondary particles formed by aggregation of primary particles of a lithium-containing transition metal oxide, and secondary particles formed by aggregation of primary particles of a rare earth compound. The secondary particles of the rare earth compound adhere to the surfaces of the secondary particles of the lithium-containing transition metal oxide at recessed portions formed between adjacent primary particles of the lithium-containing transition metal oxide, and to both of the adjacent primary particles at the recessed portion. The nonaqueous electrolyte includes lithium difluorophosphate. |
