The present invention is a fluorescent material characterized by being represented by formula (1) and in that crystal lattice distortion, as determined from a Williamson-Hall plot obtained by means of X-ray diffraction, is 0.0005-0.0020. (Sr, Ca, M)3-xMgSi2O8 : Eux... formula (1) (Here, M is one or more types of rare earth metal element selected from among the group consisting of Sc, Y, Gd, Tb and La, and 0.01 ≤ x ≤ 0.10.) In addition, the present invention is a light-emitting device characterized by being provided with this fluorescent material and a light source that irradiates the fluorescent material with excitation light so as to emit light. Furthermore, the present invention is a method for producing this fluorescent material, which includes a step of obtaining a raw material aqueous slurry and a step of spray drying this aqueous slurry by means of hot air which is at a temperature of 80-300ºC. |
