To provide a manufacturing method capable of obtaining a rare earth magnet powder of which the high magnetic characteristics (particularly squareness) are secured even under an oil environment.SOLUTION : The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of a rare earth magnet powder including a processing step of bringing rare earth magnet particles into contact with a process liquid containing phosphoric acid; and a calcination step of heating the rare earth magnet particles after the processing step at 170°C to 215°C. The magnet powder consists of rare earth magnet particles coated with a compound containing P, and should be used for manufacturing a bond magnet to be exposed under an oil environment at 90°C or higher. The rare earth magnet particle includes an NdFeB-based magnet particle containing e.g., Nd, Fe and B as essential components. The oil environment under which the bond magnet is exposed is an ATF environment consisting of e.g., a mineral oil. The bond magnet should be used as a field source of an electric vehicle motor.SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 1C |
