简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth permanent magnet material and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION : A manufacturing method according to the present invention includes a multi-arc ion plating stage and a permeation stage, and a multi-arc ion plating process includes : depositing metal containing a heavy rare earth element on a surface of a sintered neodymium-iron-boron magnet, the sintered neodymium-iron-boron magnet being 10 mm or less in thickness in at least one direction; and then thermally treating the sintered neodymium-iron-boron magnet after the deposition.The total of intrinsic coercive force (Hcj, unit kOe) and maximum energy product ((BH)max, uni MGOe) of a permanent magnet material according to the present invention is 66.8 or larger. Further, the manufacturing method according to the present invention is high in production efficiency, free of increase of harmful substance, and relatively low in price for facilities.
