PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a coating agent capable of obtaining film having high water resistance, binder strength to inorganic materials, surface strength and void-filling characteristic, and excellent in handling property and viscosity stability, and a coated article obtained by applying the coating agent, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION : A coating agent is provided by including a vinyl alcohol-based polymer containing a monomer unit having a group expressed by formula (1) and satisfying formula (I) below [In formula (1), Ris H or 1-5C alkyl; Ris alkoxyl, acyloxyl or a group expressed by OM; M is H, alkali metal or ammonium; Rand Rare each independently H or alkyl; (m) is an integer of 0 to 2; and (n) is an integer of ≥3]. Formula (I) : 370≤P×S≤6, 000. P : The viscosity-average degree of polymerization. S : The content (mol%) of the monomer unit. |
